NEEDS ASSESSMENT & REFERRAL COUNSELOR

Operating in California, Arizona and Illinois, Aurora Behavioral Health Care provides community care services through its six hospitals as well as senior living and school education alternatives. We have an excellent opportunity available at Charter Oak Hospital in Covina.

Needs Assessment & Referral Counselor

We seek a knowledgeable and empathetic individual to assess the needs of phone callers and walk-in patients as well as ensure their referral to the most appropriate service or resource.

This role requires a current CA RN or LVN/LPT license, and/or an M.A/M.S. in a related discipline. Healthcare, preferably in a psychiatric facility or mental health unit, as well as inpatient experience is required. Familiarity and/or working knowledge of the following is necessary: DSM III-R diagnostic criteria; clinical terminology; and patient rights and laws. In addition to strong assessment, intervention and persuasion skills, the chosen candidate must possess excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. Further, the ability to meet deadlines, perform data entry and supervise others is essential.
