How to Reach the Lawmakers
Contact information for U.S. Senators and Senate Committees is easy to find at:
http://www.senate.gov On the U.S. Senate home page, just click on:
- "Senators" to get an alphabetical listing of senators -- then click on your Senator's name to go to his/her home page, where you will find contact information (address, phone number, fax number, & E-mail address).
- "Committees" to get a list of Senate Committees with links to members' names & addresses.
Contact information for U.S. Representatives and House Committees is easy to find at:
http://www.house.gov On the House of Representatives home page, just click on:
- "Write Your Representative" to search for your Representative and his/her contact information by entering your zip code.
- "House Directory" (under "What's New") and then "Committee Directory" to get a list of the various House Committees and their members.
How to Find Out about Legislation
Just ask "THOMAS", a search engine created for this purpose and named after Thomas Jefferson, our third President and author of the Declaration of Independence. You can access THOMAS through either the House or Senate home pages -- or right here, by clicking on the following link:

- to get a page of links to major bills listed by topic;
- to search for bills by short title, bill number / type, or bills enacted into law.
Or click on "Committee Reports" and follow the links to find out what various House and Senate Committees have to say about important matters being worked on by Congress.
