Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee spearheads the legislative advocacy efforts of the Chapter. The Committee is comprised of a Chairperson appointed by the Board and other members in good standing. Responsibilities include: monitoring the APNA national web site for legislative Action Alerts, keeping abreast of pending California state legislation and federal legislation that could affect psychiatric nursing practice and/or consumer access to mental health care, apprising the President and other Board Members in a timely way about Action Alerts and other opportunities to engage in legislative advocacy relevant to the purposes of the Chapter, and helping to inform all Chapter members about pertinent legislative issues by writing articles for the Chapter NetLetter and web site.

If you want to take part in legislative activism that benefits the psychiatric nursing profession and consumer access to mental health care, this is the committee for you! Interested members should contact Chapter President, Mary Ann Nihart: by email to mnihart@pacbell.net.
