
Introduction
Westlakes Amateur Radio Club Inc was formed in 1964 from the Booragul High School radio club by Keith Howard VK2AKX. The club had numerous homes till 1974 when we were granted a parcel of land at Teralba and premises and towers etc were erected and still serve the club today.
MeetingsThe Club is open every Saturday from 11:30 am and Tuesday nights from 6:00 pm.
The monthly general meeting is held on the second Saturday of each month at 13:30 hrs followed by afternoon tea.
Club Activities & EventsOur Field Day is held in September every year with Amateur Radio vendors, Boot sales and an Auction of preloved gear. Various gate prizes are offered and of course the 'Famous' Westlakes BBQ is in full swing. A regular imformation Net is held every Saturday morning at 08:00 hrs on 146.775 MHz to advise of happenings at the club that afternoon and through out the following week. All are invited to call in. Sunday see's the club's regular news session at 09:00 hrs on 146.775 MHz which is then followed by the VK1WIA News cast at 09:30 hrs. The WIA news is repeated at 19:30 hrs and the morning broadcast is generally relayed on 3.565 MHz.
