Amateur Radio Rally

August 2, 2024
M0MTJ and M0SER at Wythall

President Larry Dayhuff's, N7LWD, Statement

As president, it is my job to direct the FMCA Amateur Radio Chapter to enhance growth and participation. Therefore, I encourage more member involvement. The chapter needs members to volunteer for functions like Net Control Operator, HF Net Management, Rally Hosting, and Transmitter & Website contributions. This is your chapter and you will find it challenging and rewarding if you get more involved with these essential operations of the chapter. My job also includes listening to what members have to say. Just drop me an email with any of your concerns or questions.

Vice President Rick Hamilton's, WB5VQW, Statement

As Vice President, I will support and fill-in for the president as needed.

Additionally, I will promote the FMCA and our Amateur Radio Chapter as we travel the country.

Treasurer Dave Rathke's, WB4OHV, Statement

Obviously, my responsibility is the financial matters of the club, both income and expense paying. Dues checks eventually wind up on my desk for deposit into the club's account which is at Aquesta Bank based here in Mooresville, NC. I am one of the very few members that still has a regular, full time job. I currently fly for the local airline and have been doing so for 31 years. I fly 737s and hopefully will retire in about four years. So please bear with me and have patience as my time and schedule are very irregular.

Secretary Margaret Anderson's, WD5HDM, Statement

National Director Farley Light's, AE4KJ, Statement

National Director Farley elected June 14, 2013. As a new National Director, I am not sure of all the duties that go with it but I am willing to learn. We enjoyed the Spring Rally together at Loveland in June before going on to the 88th Reunion in Gillette. I did learn alot at my first Governing Board meeting and seeing how FMCA works.

The one thing I know I should do is encourage you to attend the rallies and meetings and keep you informed when something does happen, so please keep in mind the 89th FMCA Family Reunion and Motorhome Showcase in Perry, Georgia, March 17 to 20, 2014. I think the Georgia Fairgrounds are great and a good time will be had together. I know I will have with those who come.

More to come later, Farley

Alternate National Director Lee Nugent's, N5LN, Statement

My role as Alternate National Director is to attend the National Governing Board meetings if Farley is unable to attend. The first opportunity I would have to substitute for Farley is in 2015 in Madison, WI.

Between now and then, I encourage all members to attend our ARC Chapter Rallies. And also attend as many National and Regional rallies as you can. It is fun to have "eyeball" QSO's with other Hams from all over the country & especially those who also enjoy the Motorcoach lifestyle.

If you are planning to attend a Regional or Area rally somewhere, please let the Transmitter know about it. You might be able to have a mini FMCAARC Rally there! How many people in the country even know what an "Eyeball QSO" is, any way? Hi, hi.
