Amateur Radio Licensing Classes

Several of SANDARC's Member Clubs offer Amateur Radio licensing classes during the year. Check club web sites to see where and when the next class will be held. Also, check SANDARC's "Events" page on this web site for any class information.

In addition, licensing classes are offered in the San Diego area by J. Goldberg, AF6GM.

Taking Your License Test

SANDARC's Volunteer Examiner service (VE) offers testing for all FCC Amateur Radio licenses almost every Saturday of the year.
Our Volunteer Examiners are local hams who dedicate their time and expertise to ensure that the testing process fully complies with FCC regulations and procedures.

SANDARC's testing sites are located in the North County (Escondido), South County (Bonita), East County (El Cajon) and Central San Diego (North Park). Please consult the schedule listings below for dates and locations.

The testing process begins at 9:00AM, with the last test starting at 10:15AM.
It is preferred that applicants phone or email ahead for reservations at least seven days prior to the test date. Walk-ins may be accepted at most test sites, if the workload is light and space is available.

The Bonita location does not have testing on the 4th Saturday in November or December.
The testing locations at LDS facilities (Bonita and Escondido) request that you do not bring tobacco products, tea or coffee onto the property.
